This regional club team challenge is an annual event that is promoted and sponsored by Badminton NSW. It was first contested in 2012 and has a strong tradition of bringing players together from different areas both on and off the court.

If chosen to represent their club this competition is free of charge for players – providing that they are affiliated with Badminton NSW and through their own club’s membership.

Competing clubs have included teams from – Hunter, Central Coast, Coffs Harbour, Armidale, Tamworth, Nambucca Heads and the Newcastle University.

The competition format over the years has evolved into 2 divisions –

  • competition division– for players of levels A & B
  • And a social division– for players of levels C & D

The team format may change from year to year, based on the clubs available and their numbers… however it has always been marketed as a mixed team event first.

A combined team dinner & presentation is planned after the first day’s competition and free social play is usually offered on the second day for players of this weekend event for players to further mix and mingle.
